I submitted a $100 deposit with Project Solar. About an hour later I received a call from my onboarding specialist to tell me they didn’t have any installers for my area and they would see if they could find one, otherwise I could opt for the DIY route. We agreed to not move forward until they could determine if an installer was available
I was hoping for a full install, but after watching videos of how the installations are performed I decided I could handle the DIY route. The Difference in cost would cover the cost of scaffolding, safety gear, etc. The initial estimate was $11,790 for a 6.55KW system, plus $2,423.50 for installation.
I took the requested photos and uploaded them.

I waited for a call from the onboarding specialist with news about an installer but didn’t hear anything. I sent an email to them to tell them I’m fine doing it myself. I attached a sketch with my roof measurements and locations of the chimney and plumbing vent.

I received a phone call to let me know my pictures and email were received, and the next step is to do a video session to see the design they come up with. I scheduled it for after work on Thursday. The meeting will be done via Google Meet.

I checked the dropbox folder they created for my project and saw a proposal was uploaded to it, but they used the wrong roof for it. I can’t blame them, since Google maps has our addresses on this street completely wrong. I sent and email with a picture of where my roof is.

I got a call and email from my onboarding specialist. Due to the issue with the wrong roof, we’re rescheduling our meeting until tomorrow so a new design can be made (hopefully for my roof this time).
